SAP Labs, India is located at Whitefield, Bangalore. They also have their other campus in Gurgaon and has its headquarters in Germany.

What is SAP Labs?

SAP Labs are SAP’s core R&D entities, developing and constantly improving key SAP solutions. These research and development locations are strategically located in high-tech clusters around the globe and reflect SAP’s culture of diversity and innovation.

Opportunity

It was mid-day when I got a mail that said that you have been selected for the third and the final round of hackathon which was called “Final Showdown hackathon 2.0”, I was really excited, it was the hard work of the team which paid off. After two rounds we had almost lost hopes cause the number of teams in the first round was 340+ and we felt that our project could not just go through but we were wrong. But we had less than 10 days and it was really difficult to deal with a project which we were not that aware, doing this with lesser knowledge was really difficult. We had to start from scratch by learning software packages.

The Project

The project might not be that interesting but it would definitely help the needy. After a number of researches and asking people, professors we finally planned that our project would be entirely based on helping people by an app which was named “AAHAR”. The main idea was to connect any user to the nearest NGO so that he or she can distribute the surplus food to the people in need through the NGO. The task looked difficult and looked big but we did not give up. But we were pretty much sure that it would help the hungry ones. For the purpose of this project, we named our team as team “Infitech”.

The Support

In order to achieve this task, we had to create interfaces of both NGO and the user for which we had to use Android Studio and had to know Java language. So we had to learn Java and Android Studio which was not difficult since we were assigned mentors and our seniors helped us a lot. The college had supported us a lot and it was not difficult since they motivated us throughout the development process. We were permitted to skip classes and work on the project and the time which we got helped us to complete our project. I must mention the immense support given to us by our mentors in college and also the people who designed our logo

The Final Day

When I heard SAP labs, I had one thing in my mind that it would be more formal and we had to work properly on our communication, technical skills but SAP labs proved me wrong, I found friendliest and cool people in this campus and I was very much fascinated by the way they treated us. Talking about the campus, here you go….

Sap Campus

We were welcomed by the scholars at SAP and we were given information on how can one join SAP as a scholar and life of a scholar at SAP Labs. It was a wonderful experience. The event started after breakfast. They also informed us that we were the luckiest top 17 filtered from 340+. The first two rounds went on very well after a few presentations. We lost in the final round of the event since our application crashed after the implementation round. After the event, we were taken on a campus tour and we also had a photography contest and we took a few pics with the organizers. It was one good day, the more fascinating was when they told us that we were the campus ambassadors of our respective colleges. I have no words to express the experience.

The App

The application is in the development stage and will be released in mid-2020 with all features included and verified. This “AAHAR” application will definitely help the users, the NGOs and others as well
