AI — Research on a few companies — 1
There’s quite a lot of buzz in the AI space and how it is affecting daily lives, industries and finally the global economy. I decided to do a bit of research on a few of those companies and write an article in parts for the benefit of entrepreneurs and organizations that are contemplating building or using AI solutions. These could be indicators of the potential of AI and its impact or may simply help you in your decision making. So here goes the first list:
a. Madiva Solutions aggregates information and develop proprietary algorithms to create tailor-made solutions in customer service, customer relationship management, segmentation and knowledge management. They are based in Spain. You may need to use translate as most of the content out there is in Spanish.
b. Algoritmica combines machine-learning algorithms with the power of supercomputers to build unparalleled predictive models for marketing, risk, fraud, supply chains and maintenance. They are based in Netherlands.
c. mBrainTrain aims to improve medical services and quality of life through electroencephalography software and hardware. The company develops a fully mobile, wearable device for recording and analyzing electrical brain activity. They are in Serbia.
d. Near Future Laboratory aims to understand how imaginations and hypothesis become materialized to swerve the present into new, more habitable near future worlds. Its practice involves working closely with creative, thoughtful experts within various domains of work.
e. Bisnode’s approach to big data fuses corporate and external data to generate hidden insights underlying people’ and groups’ social behaviors. They help organizations reach new customers with in-depth customer insights through profiling, segmentation and prospecting; and a lot more.
f. Mezuro develops reporting systems for mobility measurements; it counts the number of people and vehicle movements in an area on the basis of anonymous statistic data from mobile communications networks and counting cameras. Mezuro calculates the number of traffic movements throughout the Netherlands or in a specific area based on the data from mobile telephone networks. This information can be visualized and hence made available and interpretable in the Mobility Maps feature.
g. Parknav is an information technology company specializing in location-based intelligence regarding available parking space. Parknav gives complete coverage of Chicago and San Francisco in the US, and Munich and Hannover in Germany, including all free spots, all zoned (permit) spots and also all pay (metered spots). The new concept calculates with new principles based on big data instead of the known park-sharing methods.
h. SynerScope provides advanced business intelligence/ big data analysis software that directly allows actual domain experts and analysts to make sense of their big data. The company works in the financial services and critical infrastructure domains and offer services around cybersecurity and GDPR.
i. Transmetrics is a company that is solving the biggest problem of the cargo transport industry — capacity utilization. It is tackling the problem by using the power of big data and predictive analytics. Using predictive optimization they help cargo transport companies and logistics service providers to be more optimal through the use of modern technology such as artificial intelligence (AI), data mining, predictive analytics and computer optimization.
j. Big Data Scoring is a provider of credit scoring solutions based on social media. Its services are aimed at banks and consumer lending companies. The company develops and deploys custom scoring models that combine a lender’s internal data with thousands of pieces of external data such as location-based information, web search results, behavioral tracking, device technical details, mobile app data and much more. This enables lenders to accurately predict borrower payment behavior, helping then make informed and more profitable credit decisions in real time.
k. BizEquity has developed an online business valuation engine to help business owners and entrepreneurs receive an estimate of what their business could potentially be worth. l. CitizenMe is a personal identity management service helping people take back control of their digital profiles on social networks (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter), apps and all other places across the web. It helps people make the “virtual you” appear in the way they want it to.
m. ClinicalGraphics a Zimmer Biomet company, creates visual interactive motion simulations for hip impingement and dysplasia in a 3D PDF format to support orthopedic treatment decisions. They do some great work on 3D based modelling and also explaining a case effectively.
n. uMotif offers a simple and engaging software platform that puts people at the heart of their care. Using web and mobile apps, people track and monitor their health and choose to share their data with their clinicians to improve health outcomes.
o. DataShaka offers a unification platform, enabling customers to combine data, no matter the source or format, all powered by its TCSV algorithm, standing for Time, Context, Signal and Value.
p. Solutionpath offers a technology that creates contextual relationships, can automatically catalogue, add metadata in context of organizations practices (folksonomy) and retrieve conceptually and contextually relevant data. They use a methodology called StREAM (Student Retention, Engagement and Attainment Monitoring) that is revolutionizing the way colleges and universities harness their student data to reduce attrition rates, maximize academic grades, and enhance wellness.
