Announcing GenesisPlayer — Verasity’s First Video Application
Today, we’re pleased to announce that Verasity has released the first application using our technology — GenesisPlayer.
One of the key pillars of the Verasity Protocol is enabling other businesses to build upon and leverage the power of our video technology. The Verasity tech team, alongside our partners, have been busy continuing development of the Verasity Protocol and its suite of video technologies and infrastructure.
GenesisPlayer is an online video player that allows viewers to watch videos and sign-up for airdrops directly from within the video player itself. The tech has even been featured on leading ICO listing websites, such as ICObench and allows us to capture data directly and speak to new members of the crypto-community.
Successful blockchain projects require strong community and network effects, yet cutting through has become increasingly difficult due to the number of projects in the market and restrictions on ICO promotion. Traditional platforms such as YouTube are also banning crypto-advertising and standard airdrops can produce low-quality audiences.
GenesisPlayer’s mission is to support blockchain projects reach communities of users, increase blockchain project understanding, and encourage participants to sign up for the airdrop allocation.
INDX, Autobay, Elysian, Adbank, CoinAnalyst, Vreo and SmarTree are some of the first customers to sign up to the platform. These projects are currently running airdrop campaigns to engage the community and reward participants for watching their video.
Over the last 7-days, we quietly rolled the application out and have already seen over 7,000 people use GenesisPlayer to watch INDX’s airdrop video.

Aside from being a demonstration of the Verasity Protocol and technology, we’re exploring the possibility of adding in additional Verasity features such as being able to earn VRA for watching adverts. Not only will this help spread the word about the Verasity Protocol, it means we are already getting the first users interacting with our technology and revenue for Verasity. This will aid adoption of our platform and in turn the VRA micropayment token.
