Great reply Hakon, I’m curious how you’ve managed with your phone on do-not-disturb selectively…
Jonathan Maimon

Thanks for the thoughtful response. Keeping my phone on do-not-disturb during select periods has worked well for me. I don’t mind my friends and family grabbing my attention when I don’t need to be focused. Occasionally friends text me right before they’re heading out to eat, so it creates opportunities to spend time with people I care about last-minute.

One thing I recently discovered is that with iOS is that on do-not-disturb, if someone calls you more then once in 3 minutes, it’ll buzz. It seems they did think of a way to address the emergency situation.

I might give your approach a try for a week. Limiting distractions is good.
