Fiction writers sometimes struggle here on Medium, where folks seem to be more in the market for self-help articles. Some of us, I am sure,

This article is in response to ’s writing prompt specifically calling upon fiction writers to answer a series of questions about their own writing.

So, without further ado, let’s get to the questions and answers, shall we?

  1. When did you start writing? Is there a specific story?

Wow. This is a harder question to answer than you might think. The problem is, whenever a fiction writer a question, they are going to stop and come up with an answer.

This is another way of saying that they are going to stop and tell a story — and sometimes the writer finds it darned near impossible to stop at one story. In fact, I’ve got several stories that explain when, where, and why I started…
