I don’t think it’s that people aren’t willing to deal with ads or pay for the news. It’s that many news providers all ads that are very intrusive either by being auto play videos, or obnoxious huge pop ups that occur only after one has scrolled halfway through the article.

I’d gladly pay Hulu/Netflix like prices for a news site that gave me the best writing and coverage. The problem is these days many sites are very bias leaning in some direction instead of giving the hard facts and allowing the reader to form their own opinion.
