One of the main causes for hair loss or slow hair growth is Vitamin deficiency. Avocados are high in vitamins B and E, which work at the cellular level to protect and strengthen hair. Vitamin B is essential for hair growth and Vitamin E helps repair damage on the scalp, which may slow or prevent hair growing. Using avocado as a conditioner or a mask are the best ways to promote regular hair growth. Try some of these avocado recipes for beautiful hair.
1. Basic Avocado Conditioner
Mash avocados in a paste and add enough water so that you can apply it easily on your hair. After washing your hair with shampoo, apply the avocado conditioner and leave for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing with cold water.
Using an avocado conditioner promotes hair that feels soft and is more elastic. The high-fat content of avocados makes hair less dry and less prone to breakage.
2. Basic Avocado Mask
For hair that is severely damaged or dry, try an avocado mask. Combine one chopped avocado and one egg yolk in a bowl. Add enough water to make a workable paste. Apply the mixture to damp hair and massage into the hair and scalp. Leave it on for 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.
3. Oats-Avocado Mask
To make a moisturizing mask, mash one avocado into paste, then mix it with 1/4 cup of steel-cut or rolled oats. Combine the paste with 1/8 to 1/4 cup of olive oil, depending on how dry your hair is. Add 1 cup of milk and stir well. Smooth the mixture over your hair; wait for 30 minutes and rinse with water.
4. Detangling Avocado Conditioner
To make a detangling conditioner, put 1/4 cup of olive oil, 1/2 cup of shea butter, 2 tablespoons of apple-cider vinegar and one sliced avocado in a blender. Blend until smooth, apply to hair and wait for 30 minutes. Rinse well with cold water
5. Lemon Avocado Mask
Slice the avocado and mash it. Add one egg and whip it around until fully combined. Add 1–2 tsp of lemon juice and mix well. Wet hair and towel dry it enough so that it’s not dripping. Take a scoop of the hair mask and start working it in from the roots to the tip until all your hair has been treated. Allow the mask to sit for 20–30 minutes and then rinse out as much as you can. Shampoo and condition your hair as normal.
6. Grapefruit Avocado Mask
Blend 2 avocados, 1 egg and 2 tsp grapeseed oil and blend until smooth. Apply to dry, detangled hair and wash off with cold water.
