Is Everybody Else Out There Depressed?
Debbie Galant

Thank you for the book recommendation. Can I return the favour with another WW2 book “Millions like us” an anthology of letters, diaries and memoirs written by British women and edited by Virginia Nicholson.

It’s a glorious mix up of ordinary and extraordinary people coping with rationing, bombs and heartache. Moving and horrifying at times but also very funny. It’s a book I treasure.

Alastair Sooke’s short study “Matisse: a second life” is a great introduction to his post war art and wears its learning very lightly.

Both on Kindle. Happy reading.
