Yet again Mr. Gault has resorted to the gutter to criticize Mr. Trump. Sure, jailing your political opponents for merely being your opponent is totalitarian. But investigating, prosecuting, and then sentencing a person whether your opponent or not, regardless or rank or status, for committing a felony endangering national security is something different entirely: it is the rule of law. If Mrs. Clinton broke and the law and escapes prosecution, why should anyone follow the law?
While President Obama is no tyrant, his absolution of President Bush is hardly laudible. President Obama’s adherence to “you scratch my back, I scratch” Washington elite corruption is nothing to admire in any president. Trump will not play that game, and thank god for that.
