The latest version of Vialectrum supports Ledger hardware wallets. You can start using your Ledger hardware wallet with Vialectrum 3.1 by following these steps!
Step 1: Connect your Ledger hardware wallet to your computer. Open Vialectrum 3.1 and create a new wallet. Click ‘next’ after you’ve entered your preferred wallet name.
Step 2: Select ‘Standard wallet’ and click ‘next’.
Step 3: Select ‘Use a hardware device’ and click ‘Next’.
Step 4: Select ‘An unnamed ledger [ledger, initialized] and click ‘Next’.
Make sure your Ledger hardware wallet is unlocked or you will get the following error:
Step 5: Select ‘Legacy BIP44’ if you have a regular Viacoin wallet on your Ledger Nano S. Select ‘p2sh-segwit BIP49’ if you have a Segwit Viacoin wallet. Do not select ‘native-segwit BIP84’ (bech32) because it isn’t functional yet until Ledger has updated bech32 for Viacoin.
Step 6: Keep the ‘Encrypt wallet file’ box ticked (recommended) or untick it and click ‘Next’.
Vialectrum will start synchronizing your Ledger hardware wallet. Once it has synchronized you will have full access to the funds stored on your Ledger hardware wallet.
Sending a transaction: When you send a transaction you will have to confirm it on your Ledger hardware wallet.
