Three Viaflats Residents share their stories of booking a home with Viaflats

Since we launched Viaflats in December 2015 hundreds students have booked a home with us in Brussels, Milan, Lille, Liège, or Maastricht with us. Our goal is to make finding a home more fun, safe & transparent. Since we launched, we have developed a network of more than 500 verified homes (and growing at more than 100 a week now!). We have interviewed some of our Residents to ask them what they thought of booking a home with us.
Stephanie, 21, from Indonesia

1. What is your age and what do you do / study?
I’m 21 years old and I’m currently in the first year of my bachelors.
2. How long do you intend to stay in your Viaflats home?
Throughout the course of my study, which is about 3 years.
3. What appealed you the most about your room and why did you book it?
I liked the fact that I can share a huge furnished living space together with the other housemates. It’s mostly nice because I don’t have to be cooped up in my room all the time.
4. How did it feel to book a home online & not visiting it before?
Not going to lie I was initially very apprehensive, especially since it’s my first time ever renting a room. Trusting the Viaflats team was the only way to go and I was more than elated when I finally saw my home away from home since it perfectly represented was I saw on the pictures & videos!
5. What has been your favourite thing / event so far about your new city and what has been your favourite memory with your housemates?
I really don’t know, I’m in love with the city! The lifestyle here is totally different from back home (In Indonesia) so I couldn’t be happier. I have really cool roommates and they helped me a lot with settling in.

Mihai, 24, from Romania

1. What is your age and what do you do / study?
I am 24 years old and studied Aerospace Engineering. I am currently doing an internship and this is the reason I needed a home!
2. How long do you intend to stay in your Viaflats home?
9 months, for the whole duration of my internship.
3. What appealed you the most about your room and why did you book it?
The facilities in my apartment were shared only with 1 other flatmate, the room was very cosy (with wooden floors) and the location was perfect, close to the city centre.
4. How did it feel to book a home online & not visiting it before?
Viaflats was straightforward with everything (the guarantees, the booking proce so I was not stressed. However, the payments options were a bit scarce since only Stripe & Paypal were accepted.
5. What has been your favourite thing / event so far about your new city and what has been your favourite memory with your housemates?
I visited the chalk mines and it was a really cool experience! In addition, the various pub quizzes were also a good memory.
