My Pen, My Voice
It often happens that we have hopes, aspirations, and dreams but the boundaries laid by the society and ourselves do not allow us to fulfill them. They keep us back and give rise to a silent struggle. In such cases pen which is often called the tongue of mind is the most useful tool. It helps you express what’s there in your mind and heart without fear. You can raise your voice and shape your struggles. And as a word, these struggles are never in vain. So here is a poem which expresses the same:
My Pen, My Voice
I sat down to write
Thought my pen is my might
But as I proceeded I found
My words fall short and I am bound.
Bound in a shackle
Which does not enable
Me to raise my voice
And to materialize my efforts and poise.
These are the shackles which have kept me down in the past
I waited for some miracle to occur and blast
Today when I wielded the pen
I realised the efforts are never in vain
Miracles are not created by God
But the ordinary creator of miracle becomes the Lord
The mind has the power to break
And hands to hold the rake
In all I’m the most capable
To revert to all those who don’t enable
To let the sky and beyond be my limit
And try to make my aspirations fit
In the cocoon they created…
Today I rise up, above and high
And I am not shy
To say that Yes, I’m ‘gainst you
But am with my enthu
That I’m on my way
And your cocoon can no longer lay
In between my efforts and
And my dreams
Which I will definitely achieve, I say
