I am sure the English white poor who occupied Victorian workhouses or were shipped to Australia as convicts often for stealing a loaf of bread in their hunger, and their white Irish counterparts who starved in the potatoe famine would argue that white skin does not guarantee privilege in any way! Access to resources gives privilege not the amount of melanin within one’s skin.
