Thank you, Andy.

There’s a lot to learn and experiment on blogging before getting significant results, and Medium is an ideal place for it, because of its simplicity and the interactive audience.

I’m critic toward Medium and I realized that it cannot be the home of my writing for many reasons. Medium has absolutely no interest in it. But I’ve already accumulated 15 months of active presence here and many successful posts, and I’m ready to take a step forward. Still, I know that it’s a very risky step and that when I’ll set up my own website it will be a bloodbath because I’ll get only a fraction of the exposure I get here. External websites need popularity and very good SEO.

My advice is to stay on Medium and think about an external website only when you’ll have an audience or plans for a related business. Starting soon with an external website, unless you’re already an expert, will only be a waste of time. Worse, you’ll hardly build an audience nor have the necessary feedback for improving.

But if you stay on Medium you have to publish the full posts and be invested in it. Medium readers are particularly sensitive to baiting techniques and are soon annoyed by them. Catchy titles are a necessity, but half-posts are not forgiven.

Anyway, blogging is addictive and I wish you good luck and fun with it!
