Tags are sometimes underestimated both by readers and writers. The fact that Medium doesn’t provide any filter feature, or that there’s some confusion about topics/tags does not help. By the way, it was once possible to follow specific tags, but this succumbed along with other changes made in stealth mode…

Anyway, tags are still a powerful tool, and the algorithm takes them into consideration anyway. Better to get the most out of them.
