Essay about happiness
Sometimes I wonder about what is truly happiness. Is it the same for everyone? Does the happiness we crave (the way we crave) is an individual desire or was simply created by someone?
Personally, on a planet with over seven billion people, does not seem reasonable to think that all desire the same goal. To be honest, a common dream is not a dream, it’s a forced consumption pattern.
From the time we are born until we are buried in a coffin, the Big Brother teach us about the importance of freedom and that with it we can achieve true happiness.
First you grow up and graduate school. Then you do a test with 180 questions and an essay. Then, if you have been lucky enough to have attended a good school and the stars were aligned in the right way you go to a good university.
And then? Well, then you need to get a job and get married. Later on, have children. And so the vicious cycle is perpetuated.
Can’t you see? Unfortunately, we live in a sick society where happiness is marketed and freedom is idealized but never achieved.
Somehow they transformed happiness in no longer an individual feeling but a behavior: they teach us that you need to buy something to be something. And buy again to be happier.
The secret behind your happiness is in how much you spend on a shopping store. More like a snowball, it’s a cascading effect: the more you buy, the happier you’ll be.
Sadly, it’s just a false and distorted feeling of joy. Nothing else.
