I absolutely agree, it's best for one to take responsibility for one's situation/life, etc…..and yet Kris, consider her employer. He'd know better than any San Francisco ‘newbie’ the cost of a minimal existence in that town. Knows rents, transportation, groceries — and yet pays a wage NO ONE claims is adequate to pay that living cost.
As well, if she is ‘dissatisfied’, do you think it likely she’s the only one? Can such a workplace be exceptionally productive?
And although you encourage her silence on the matter, change — if that’s what is needed — only takes place after someone raises the issue.
