outgrown.
We are taught that life is about growth. This idea of moving on and becoming a better version of ourselves. Because of it, we make goals and dream dreams. We change the way we dress, the way we look, the way we act, the way we interact, and the way we think. And before you know it you’re someone else. You’re a step closer to that person that you want to grow into. And that’s great.

I think that in this process of growth we are so focused on the future that we forget a little bit about the present.
When we are growing we are leaving something — or someone — behind. We outgrow our way of cognition, our way of being, the people in our life, and most importantly, ourselves.
The present that was forgotten in the reach for the future becomes a premature past. I think life has recently taught me something very important — Make Peace With That Past.
You might find that there was a lack of intentionality and carefulness with the process of growth, so you might dwell on it for a little bit longer. That’s okay. Dwell. Overthink. Shed a few tears. Send a couple of text messages. But the moment you’re done make sure to pick yourself up and keep on growing. Keep on outgrowing.
