I think we all get that feeling at the beginning. I’ve only just started getting up the courage to say it and I’ve been earning money (part time) as a writer for 3 years. But it gets easier and becomes more of a part of your self-identity with each piece you write. Every time you publish something it gives that claim more credence and the guilty pang slowly transforms into a justified thrill when you say those words “I’m a writer”.

My friends and family seem to have far more confidence in me than i do myself and they’ve been comfortable introducing me as a writer for far longer than i have. I think it’s the same for other writers and perhaps we should take something from that. ☺
