And once again, we have a Republican politician attempting to equate voter fraud by impersonation at the polls with voting machine hacking — two things that are completely separate.

Yes, we need to do more to mitigate the possibility of machine hacking, as this is something that has the potential of changing or erasing large numbers of votes, and could affect the results (unlike voter fraud by impersonation, which happens so infrequently as to be statistically invisible). But photo ID laws and poll watchers aren’t going to affect machine hacking and similar mischief one bit.
