President Obama had meeting with Republican leadership specifically to ask what compromises they wanted (of course, the Republicans weren’t willing to compromise at all). The Democrats adopted over a hundred of the Republicans’ proposed amendments to the bill, in hopes of getting bipartisan support for the finished product.

Your argument might be more compelling if you don’t lace it with blatant lies.
