I admit that if you want your protest to be seen, grab the biggest stage you can. And this was definitely the biggest stage Kaepernick had available to him.

Kaepernick also deserves props for choosing a method of protest that didn’t hurt anyone, and didn’t disrupt anything. But still got attention.

Worth mentioning — not standing for the national anthem is a freedom we have in this country. It’s one of the many things that separates us from Nazi Germany. Whether one agrees with Kaepernick’s message or not, one should always defend his right to do what he did.

I still have issues with his blaming the entire country for actions not done by the entire country. But he started a conversation. And that’s something.
