I have a feeling that Trump is just dying to return to his natural element. Ranting at rallies, spouting stuff that he doesn’t even care if it’s true or makes sense, and basking in the adulation of crowds. That’s so much more fun for him than actually doing the work of the job he was elected to.

The problem for him is that if he’s serious about running in 2020, he’ll be a known quantity, whereas he was merely an assumed quantity in 2016. He may not find enough brainwashed people to keep him afloat.

And then, there’s the problem that he may not even make it through his first term. But I don’t think Trump worries about that. He just wants to campaign. Rallies, rallies, and more rallies.
