If you really want some fun — next time you hear a right-winger/Tea Partier/conservative attempt to use the argument, “but…FREEDOM!”, ask him how he defines freedom. Apparently, “freedom” is a concept to them that means, “I should have the freedom to discriminate against anyone I want, worship any way I want, utter any offensive slurs I want, and own any number of guns of any kind I want. You, on the other hand, should not have the freedom to do what you want with your reproductive system, marry the person you love, worship any way you want (unless you’re a Christian — that’s OK), have any expectation of privacy, or be entitled to any civil rights unless I say you can have them.”

It’s most amusing to watch them try to give an explanation without using those actual words. I have challenged conservative posters here who wave the “freedom!” flag to define what freedom means to them. They almost always run away.
