In the first place, you have no idea if I wear one or not. I choose not to, however — not because I see them as being oppressive, but because I see them as being unbearably hot. As well as difficult to work in.

But notice that I said, “choose”. I have a choice to wear one or not. And so does every Muslim woman I know. Nobody should force a woman to wear a burqa, and no woman should be forced not to wear one if they choose to.
