I’ve been scratching my head on this one, too. Why put up with Trump when you can have Pence? Doesn’t make sense.
Except that Trump still has a fair amount of support that seems to be stuck between 35% and 40% no matter what outrageous thing he does. It’s possible that enough of the GOP lawmakers know that a good chuck of their district is pro-Trump, and they may not want to rock that boat. OR they’re waiting for somebody else to make the move so they don’t have to look like the bad guy.
This may come to bite them in the butt.
