Not only did I read the WaPo article, but the study they refer to has been cited in other places as well.

As far as “obvious bullshit” from ThinkProgress, I assume that’s what you would call anything that goes against your mental paradigm but you can’t rebut or debunk with specifics.

About the possible Trump collusion with Russia — we know that Russia meddled in our election. This has been confirmed by our three top intelligence agencies. And when something like this occurs, it’s reasonable to check out the activities of the person or party who benefited from this meddling — in this case, Trump. Just as when a woman is found murdered and her husband is receiving a large life insurance death benefit as a result, police investigators are going to question that husband and investigate his activities around the time of death.

Now, if Trump was completely innocent of any wrongdoing — in that he had no idea that Russia was working behind the scenes and committing illegal acts on his behalf, he would have no problem with such an investigation. In fact, he would welcome it, as it would exonerate him. But Trump insists on acting like a guilty man, and as a result this investigation appears to be more and more justified. We now have evidence that his son made an effort to collude with the Russians on influencing the election, by going to a meeting specifically to receive information that would damage Trump’s opponent, and he went to this meeting knowing that A) Russia supported Trump and wanted him to be elected, B) Russia wanted to actively influence this effort, and C) this directive came from the “highest levels” of the Russian government. Most would call Junior’s willingness to collude on these terms and knowing these things to be treason.

That “leap of faith” is a lot shorter now, isn’t it? Certainly a lot shorter than jumping to the conclusion that there are millions of non-citizens voting merely because A) there are millions of non-citizens, and B) voter registration drives are held before elections. But even so, if you really have read my posts, you’d notice that I caution that we should wait until the investigations are complete and the results made public first (my judgment on Junior’s meeting is an exception, only because Junior himself put out the damning evidence for all to see).
