Oh, but Obama DID try to work with the GOP during his first two years. He desperately wanted their support for the ACA, for example. To the point where he offered to meet with them (invitations which were often refused, and when they did agree to meet, they made it clear they wouldn’t compromise on anything). The Republicans managed to cripple the ACA with hundreds of amendments (over 160 of which were accepted), but despite all that, didn’t result in a single GOP vote for the bill.

So don’t insult my intelligence by implying that President Obama didn’t try to work with the GOP. Now let’s see how much Trump is willing to work with the Democrats, even though Republicans control both houses of Congress. And why the Democrats should give him any more consideration than the Republicans gave Obama.
