OK, your first sentence fairly screams that you have nothing but insults. Why is it “ignorant”? Why is it “anti-capitalist”? Name-calling without explanation isn’t really constructive.

You are still spouting theory, as if you’re in an economics class. You’re completely ignoring how these theories work in the real world (or don’t).

In your little fantasy land, large corporations take their extra money and invest it in ways that provide new technology, more jobs, and a wonderful life for all. And sometimes that actually happens, but not as often as you might think.

Most of the time, the extra money just goes to fatten the salaries of top executives or “invested” in offshore accounts. You think this extra money goes to stockholders? Once upon a time, companies paid dividends to stockholders. That’s more the exception than the rule nowadays. Where stockholders make their money is banking on the stock price going up so they can sell it at a profit. And how does the stock price go up? One very popular way that corporations increase their stock price is by reducing their expenses. Which means downsizing their workforce. Not by hiring more people.
