Please give an example of a country with universal health care who has actively abandoned it for a “you can have health care if you can pay for it” system such as we have.

Yes, some Canadians do come to this country for medical procedures, but not for the reason you might think. It’s not the wait times that bring them here. It’s more often that the procedure they want is done by better doctors here (such as a heart transplant or advanced brain surgery). The United States does indeed have some of the best facilities and the best doctors for some advanced procedures.
