So what DID happen with the plan that would provide “great health care for a fraction of the price” that Trump said he had and promised us? Did it ever exist? No, of course not. It’s probably in the same fantasy bucket with Trump’s secret plan to end ISIS that he bragged that he, and only he, had.
The only way to get “great health care for a fraction of the price” is to take profit to insurance companies out of the equation. And there are only two ways this will happen — a single payer plan similar to Medicare, or a no-profit public option that would compete with private insurers and drive prices down.
Republicans are unlikely to support either of these. And shame on anyone who voted for Trump believing in this fairy dust.
