The problem with that is — most of our elected politicians (except those on a local level) get paid enough that they can afford to buy their own health insurance.

Pay politicians minimum wage or slightly above and THEN expect them to purchase health insurance on their own without any help (like millions of Americans would have to do if the ACA went away), and perhaps they might have some empathy. Or at least would pay attention.

(Yes, I realize that many minimum wage workers qualify for Medicaid. However, with the block grant to states proposal, more people are going to get squeezed out of that, too.)
