The sad thing is that there are a number of voters in my state (North Carolina) who have already become convinced that they cannot vote because for one reason or another, they cannot obtain a photo ID before the election.

This is exactly what our Republican-controlled legislature wants — to discourage voters as much as possible, because when more people turn out to vote, Democrats tend to win.

North Carolina will not give this decision much publicity, and will do everything they can to squelch it, because they don’t want anyone who they’ve managed to convince that they cannot vote to suddenly realize that they can.

Therefore, the NC Democratic Party will no doubt raise the clarion call to voters and get them to the polls.
