The teen denies that he ever threatened to shoot the cop, and apparently he wasn’t armed. The situation was initially escalated by the cop, who decided to deal with the problem of a teenage girl walking across his lawn by calling her a “c**t”. The teen boy then intervened verbally, saying, “respect the girl”.

It was the cop who initiated first physical contact, not the teen. And it was the cop who blew this situation into what it was. Over a girl walking across his lawn? Seriously?

But, of course, there never, ever, ever was a situation involving a police officer and a civilian where you didn’t automatically take the side of the police officer. No matter what went down.
