Top go to porridge combinations

I recently got asked by a friend what my favourite porridge combinations I could recommend so I thought I would share them with you. Enjoy!

  1. Overnight oats

2. Oat bake

  • 2 cups of oats
  • 1.2 cup of flaxseed (optional)
  • spices of choice — cinnamon always a winner, maca, cloves (ground)fruits — my favourite is plum, apple and dates
  • Fruits — my favourite plums, apple and dates
  • Crushed almond or walnuts

Mix first 3 ingredients together pour boiling water so it covers to soak in. While that soaks cut fruits into chunks, mix remaining ingredients add more liquid if required. Place is a dish, casserole dish works really well, add nuts to the top. Bake for 35–40 mins.

3. Oven Baked Banana and Blueberry

  • Cut up bananas and mix with frozen blueberries in coconut oil on a baking try. Sprinkle cinnamon on top. Bake for 15–20 mins.
  • This works for plums, apples and blueberry too.

4. Chia seed porridge

  • When making your porridge mix in a table spoon of chia seeds. These will expand into the mix and create a very different texture. These little seeds are great for the digestive system.

5. Egg Porridge. Whisk an egg and add into the mix.

6. Blueberry and Kiwi cut on top.

7. Homemade Granola and Raspberries

8. NUT BUTTERS!

9. Savoury lovers included in this blog too! Use the egg suggestion above and add the likes of avocado and roasted tomatoes.

Sometimes the simple versions are the best, I suggest have a play around and see what tickles your taste buds! Main tip is to get as many colours going throughout all your meals as possible!
