I have been a vivid dreamer all my life. I began recording my dreams early on and in my 40’s, hosting a disease that was slowly turning my body — inside and out — and was supposed to kill me, I began having truly remarkable dreams. Beautiful, transcendent dreams. Awake, I was in unbearable pain; asleep, in what little sleep I could manage, I was in heaven. It made me angry right up until I realized that the dreams were offering me respite, hope, a different way to see my world.
Within the next year the disease began to reverse itself. My whole life changed as most of my body was restored to me as were — while I was wide awake, standing in my kitchen — a host of memories of abuse that I’d had hints of in earlier dreams, before the illness. I ended up working, many years later, as a shamanic healer at which point my dreams brought me a gift to share with my clients: a way they could transform their lives while they slept, working with their body’s consciousness to let go of old wounds and traumas.
Essentially, it was a form of Emotional Cellular Reprogramming that people could do on their own and, I think, what my earlier dreams had been doing for me though I didn’t know it at the time.
I’ve since written three books on the technique because the more I do it myself, the more I learn abut what we can learn/teach ourselves while we sleep. There’s pretty much no analyzing of anything involved, just paying attention to how you feel if emotions come up.
The wisdom of the body, which takes over when we sleep, is profound and available to us if we are open to it. Thank you for helping to open people’s minds to their potential.
