  1. People who aren’t writers don’t wonder if they’re writers. That longing you feel, that’s your invitation
  2. Done is better than perfect.
  3. Get your insides out.
  4. When you don’t know what to write: write thoughts, feelings, and ideas.
  5. Give yourself one hour. Pour yourself out for one hour, and then press publish. After an hour whatever it is-it’s good enough.
  6. It’s not about showing off-it’s about showing yourself.
  7. Show up for yourself, publish, show up for other people.
  8. No longterm goals: one day at a time, just like life, just like sobriety.

9. The only way to avoid deathbed regret is to avoid bedtime regret.

10. The honesty required at AA meetings is the voice you need for your writing.

11. Another way to know if you’re a writer is if you’re wildly envious of other writers:

Nothing hurts more like seeing someone do the thing you wish you could do if only you were a little braver.

12. We can do hard things-like show up for ourselves.

And a few other quotes by awesome women:

“Courage is to tell the story of who you are with your whole heart.” Brené Brown

“Whether you succeed or not is irrelevant, there’s no such thing. Making the unknown known is what is important.” Georgia O’Keefe
