As explained, the Mac address allows users to access control feature of the router. This allows specific or known devices to access your network also resolves Netgear router not working issues. Follow the below-mentioned steps to add Mac Address to Netgear Router using the router’s web interface.

• Before you start this process, make sure you are properly able to configure your Netgear router.

• Check if there is any update available for your Netgear router. If yes, then update it to begin the process.

• Open any web browser on your computer and type the Netgear router’s URL or 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1 in the address bar.

• Now, enter your Netgear login credentials in the respective login dialog box. By default, your username and password will be admin and password, respectively.

• After successful login, navigate to the ADVANCED tab on your router’s web access page.

• Choose the Security option followed by Access Control. Then, locate and click on the checkbox button adjacent to the Turn on Access Control option to select it.

• Now, two Access Control options will appear on the screen. These are Allow all new devices to connect and Block all new devices from connecting.

• If you select Allow all new devices to connect option, then you can connect the Netgear router network with any device. In this case, you don’t need any MAC address to connect your devices.

• Block all new devices from connecting allows you to connect only the devices that are added using its MAC address.

• Now, enter the MAC address of all the devices that you want to provide access to.

• Click the Allow button if you wish to continue access to the device you are using.
