As we get in to march, with 21 days to go till opening day the Marlins have had an exciting off-season and many young prospects have been turning heads here in spring training. For Marlins fans (such as myself) there is a lot to be excited about for the 2020 season.

Off-season recap

Going into the off-season it was clear what the Marlins needs were. The two main areas that needed to be addressed were the bullpen and a middle of the lineup power bat or lefty hitter with power. That was the plan and the Marlins set out to find just the pieces that would be make this team better, and they did just that. List below are the Notable hitters and pitchers they signed and/or traded for.

Notable hitters:

Corey Dickerson

Johnathan Villar

Jesus Aguilar

Matt Joyce

Matt Kemp

Francisco Cervelli

Sean Rodriguez

Notable Pitchers:

Yimi Garcia

Brandon Kintzler

Brad Boxberger

Sterling Sharp

Young Talent

All over spring training the buzz has been the young player from the likes of Edward Cabrera, Trevor Rogers, Sixto Sánchez, and Jordan Holloway with many more making noise on hitting side. For the hitters the likes of Jazz Chisholm, Monte Harrison(who could get the call up early on in the 1st half of the season), Jerar Encarnacion and ton more who have been making a ton of noise in these spring games.

Look into the team

With a team that will feature new in the lineup and bullpen, the names of players returning to the team are very exciting. Guys like Brian Anderson how factors to be a key player with potential to hit 25+ homers and on pitching Sandy Alcántara looks to build on his 2019 that saw him be named to the all-star team. With a mix of vet players and young players with hunger the Marlins can surely affect the playoff picture down the line and might even play a factor in some teams hopes of making the playoffs

Predations:

Win/Loss record: 75–89
