Great stuff Gordie,
Once I corrected one of my English teachers, who had a very flaunt view on the roots of the Northern Irish, and Irish conflict; she got me back by denouncing my English literature list, just two weeks before the deadline. Still I’m even thankful to her for the other set of books her wrath made me read.
So much for the once ‘troubles’.
Especially as how you tell the meeting with fellow countrywomen and men from a different flag at home, home; changed apparently both your perspectives.
I’ll bet there is a thousand other conflicts where such a getting reacquainted would do good to the healing of old scars.
Great of heart the symbolic of this gesture shared.
