More than half of the world’s population is connected to the Internet, yet many governments fall short of their investments in information technology and digital skills.

According to the UN and OECD, Sweden — where I grew up and currently live — is a world leader in digitalization. Computers and the Internet helped me transition from being a refugee to becoming a part of the middle-class.

I was born in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia & Herzegovina, in 1985. In 1992, Sarajevo was laid under siege by Serb forces.

For the past couple of years, I’ve had a gut feeling. Entrepreneurs are not equals — and perhaps not everyone should have a startup. Are you thinking about having a startup of your own? Maybe you’re already in the early stages? I joined my first startup in 2010 as an intern. Today, 35 years old, I’ve founded several of my own companies and thought a great deal about what makes some startups succesful.
