A gathering of minds — closed Facebook groups

They say there is strength in numbers. So I’ve created a gathering of minds in all things social media and content marketing

About a month ago I decided to set up a private Facebook group. I have not regretted it at all. It’s probably my most valuable channel.

Why, you ask?

I’ve been a member of a number of closed groups for a while now, and they are amazing. The information, the community, the support and just plain learning.

Not just any groups mind you, none of those random ones created by your mates but proper constant informative posts and welcoming communities that all have each others’ back. Honest feedback, tips, methods. None of us knows everything, so being able to tap into the minds of people that are in the same situation or have the same issues or better yet, have found solutions and best practices is invaluable.

I love it.

So, as I said above, I created one.

Before we get to the link, let me tell you what the purpose is.

I’m a massive fan of sharing, cross disciplines, learning and collaborating. So the group is open to any industry, right now we have PR folk, psychologists, startup founders, social media experts, content marketers, brand owners and small business owners.

So anytime you post or ask a question you get it from every angle. As much as people are experts in their field, someone outside can add so much value to something you never thought of. Junior account managers are schooling experienced social media experts, or giving food for thought on an approach. It’s amazing.

The group focusses on content marketing and social media. Heres some of the regular posts that take place:

Brainstorm Tuesdays — anyone can post a brief, or an issue and the group helps out with ideas, solutions and more

Freebie Friday — just free shit, from presentation templates to handy tools. Free

Tools: suggestions and tips on all the tools used in getting shit done

There is a lot more coming soon as the group grows, live Q&A’s with experts, Webinars, collaborations and more.

Some of the highlights from the group :

HOW TO GET INFLUENCERS TO SHARE YOUR CONTENT

HOW TO CREATE ORGANIC VIRAL LINKEDIN POSTS

EMAIL STRUCTURES TO KEEP CLIENTS SWEET

PROCESSES TO CREATE CONTENT FOR THE WEEK

The plan is to grow this group slowly, to ensure its a community of quality users.

Users that are always learning and sharing. It’s not about having big numbers, which some people think is a measure of success, it’s more about a close knit bunch of people that help each other out. There is no selling or dodgy click bait. Just pure executional stuff, with the occasional bit of fun.

Seeing as you’re here on the site, I would love it if you’d join up. Go here: The Content Blueprint and sign on up.

You won’t regret it.
