Thanks for sharing such experience. I bet your decision to leave such great venture has been very difficult to take.

And I deeply agree on two things (at least) : 1 - it is not possible to manage a SME in a middle of two cultures. It is disorienting for the team (and I guess, also for the investors). 2— one of the best way to manage and grow a business from scratch is to give an “framed” autonomy to everyone. Autonomy that will lead to a highly motivated team (by the ability to take decisions, to take risks (and sometimes, to fail and have the right to), through the true feeling of “being part of a great venture”, etc.) and also, to a team that will have the real sens of accountability.

Another aspect of your story is that your are keeping your shares. It is also a great sign of confidence sent to your team and associate. Will you keep any role like having a seat in the advisory board for example ?
