Alcohol, Growing Up, and Trying To Do Better

This resonates with me, Charlie. I’ve been dependent on alcohol before. I guess that’s what happens when you wake up every morning to see your parents shouting at each other, you see your sisters have nothing to eat, and you’re so stressed and fatigued by being a working student.

Alcohol served as a companion when I wanted to escape from everything. I thought alcohol was the cure to my depression. It wasn’t. It was a catalyst.

I realized that the more you drink when you are depressed, the deeper you go into rabbit hole.

Thankfully, I managed to regulate my drinking before I got to the “point of no return.”

Continue inspiring other people who are going through tough times! I’ll also follow your lead by taking care of myself physically and emotionally. I’m glad you wrote this.
