How to Generate Keys to Your VINchain Wallet
The VINchain team has been hard at work to present our own wallet that is now available for use
We are excited to announce that we have launched our own VINchain wallet perfect for storing VIN tokens! The security of your tokens is guaranteed by your private key so be sure to store them safely.
Step 1: On our website (https://vinchain.io), log into your account on the top panel to the right. After logging in, choose “Swap” from the top panel,
then click the “Start” button.
* Please follow these steps closely, as the whole process must be completed in one sitting. The whole process will take 5 minutes
so please choose a time when you will be able to complete it in its entirety.
Step 2: Choose and enter your username, this will be your identification on the platform and your public address for use on the blockchain.
Next, press “Submit” and the system will check your username to be sure it is unique and formatted correctly. There are several criteria to make sure your username is valid:
Account name may contain one or more names separated by a period. Each username:
- Must start with a letter
- May contain numbers and/or well placed dashes (-)
- May contain only one dash (-) in a row
- Must end with a letter or number
- Must contain between 5 and 32 characters
Once completed, press “Next Step”.
Next, we will create a Wallet Name for your convenience, as you will use it in the future! Type a name you will remember in the “WALLET NAME” field and then click “Submit”.
Step 3: Next, we will generate the keys for the wallet. Click on the “Generate Key Pair” button, and your keys will appear in the “Public Key” and “Private Key” fields.
It is very important to save both the public and private keys in a safe place. Be especially sure to save and protect the private key as it gives access to your wallet and VIN tokens. Download the .TXT file by clicking on the “Download as TXT file” button so you will always have a record of them.
After making a record of your private and public keys, click “I’ve got the key-pair and I stored them in a safe place” to confirm that you have
saved both of your keys and then click on the “Next Step” button below.
Step 4: Now we will send a signed message from the wallet that you are moving your VIN tokens from. This is how you can confirm that you are the owner of the wallet which currently contains your VIN tokens.
For a step by step instruction on how to send this signed message please follow: https://medium.com/@vinchain/signing-a-message-from-your-ethereum-wallet-with-myetherwallet-cfef7acd6f6d
Step 5: Insert the signed key that you generated in the previous step in the field under “Submit Signed Keys” and then click the “Save Swap” button. If you need to go back to a previous step, click on the “Previous Step” button.
Your signed key must look like this:
After successfully entering your Signed Key and clicking “Save Swap” your VIN tokens will be transferred to your new VIN wallet! Congratulations!
