Privatization of water — The access to natural resources

Some time ago I was on a facebook thread discussion about one food company who was denying that water is a fundamental human right…

Soon the subject of the discussion gone to private versus public stuff. And when come to this point almost every discussion start to be boring, people tend to defend some ideologies like soccer teams, blinded by their fanaticism trying to defend their side and forgetting the seek of truth.

To make this subject clear I’ve decided to exercise and use the old way of investigating one argumentative logic seeking the truth.
So I started using the old Socratic method with myself and got this result, can also be boring but it is beautiful:

A natural resource, is one that exists independently of man, thus does not belong to any man, but as it is natural to the human being, it can belong to anyone who has natural access to it.

If it can belong to anyone and does not belong to one in specific, then belongs to everyone.

If it belongs to everyone, no state or individual can deprive any man or animal of your access, but may charge for capture, process, transform and distribute. However, can not deprive your access, except in case of scarcity, because when there is scarcity there is deprivation, in order to not deprive only one, everyone who has natural access should be deprived.

Deprive water when there is scarcity is tolerable, depriving the sun’s transformation into electrical energy does not make sense (some governments are trying this), as the saying goes: the sun shines for everyone! It is of natural access to all, not a product of man, its direct capture, transformation and use should be free.

Morally we have, many times, deprive the animals access to natural resources, even without having the right, sometimes in the name of survival, even if nowadays we have resources available more easily .

And last… The man needing to live in society, for their own individual good, agree to respect other men, but not always equally. Therefore, some morally assume the creation of castes which forcibly try to deprive some individuals of what is natural to all, they don’t have this right. Nor should it be morally acceptable.
