I have to disagree with my friend and colleague in the Enterprise Irregulars, Vinnie Mirchandani.

Denis, necessity has always been the mother of invention. The Grand Challenges I wrote about a decade ago in medicine, space, environmental issues and many others are still challenges. Those represent opportunities for us and the next couple of generations.

In an interview for my recent book, a respected prof told me just as the horse lost its role in value chains, humans are next. I almost asked him do you have no respect for human creativity, dexterity, cunning? Humans don’t just roll over and die. May be I am naive but that keeps me very hopeful.
