A staggering day’s trade — Still not comparable to Single’s Day, but not a bad effort. Not since Valentine’s Day, has a non seasonal shopping day become so big.

Prime Day 2017 event grew by more than 60 percent over last year. Tens of millions of Prime members made a purchase on Prime Day 2017, more than 50 percent higher than the prior year.

Amazon Products continued dominance:

  1. The Echo Dot, was the best-selling Amazon device this Prime Day, it was also the best-selling product from any manufacturer in any category across Amazon globally.
  2. Element 55-inch 4K Ultra HD smart LED TV — Amazon Fire TV Edition was the best-selling TV deal in Amazon history.

Customer orders on the Amazon App more than doubled this Prime Day compared to last year.

More than 200,000 women’s dresses and more than 200,000 lightbulbs were purchased by customers on Prime Day 2017.

Once again, Amazon used Prime Day as a way to drive both sign-ups for its annual Prime memberships and to promote its products.

It appears to have succeeded on both fronts.

Amazon said more new members joined Prime on July 11 than on any single day in the company’s history. If this growth trajectory continues, Amazon Prime should be used in more than 50 percent of all U.S. households before the year is over, much thanks to the latest Prime Day subscription boost

The average Prime member spends $1,300 on the online shopping platform annually, compared with $700 for non-Prime members, according to data from Statista.
