Let’s talk about Podcasts.

Podcasts.

First thing I want to say is that they’re awesome. Yes, probably not a ground breaking announcement, but I’m really happy I got into them. Well, sort of. I guess I’m just really picky with what I want to listen to and no matter how hard people try to tell me to do something, I just don’t effing do that. Some of the most popular podcasts out there, people are like, ‘Dude, you NEED to listen to it’ and I’m like…’uh no I don’t’. I’m sure they’re awesome and I would probably like them, but… Same with the legendary TV shows, such as Friends, How I Met Your Mother, Game of Thrones (I know, holy shit, do I know, how many of you are now thinking ‘what and idiot’), but I just don’t want to watch them. Maybe, one day…maybe. Anyways, coming back to podcasts. I want to share some of my favourite ones and if, by any chance, you didn’t get a chance to listen to them, go and check them out. Or if you’re like me, then you won’t. Totally up to you.

My number 1.

At the moment, my strong #1 is The Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard. I remember sitting at work and thinking how tired I am of my Spotify and that I need something new and refreshing and accidentally went onto the podcast section. Looked at a few and was like, ‘eeh’, until I came across Dax. I listened to a few of the episodes and was hooked ever since. I was totally binging for like 4 days and got through them all. Probably not the best thing to do at work, but hey…give me a break. Perhaps, the main reason for loving this podcast so much is that it is super casual and it’s uncensored, which I absolutely love. For me, a good story has to have at least a few bad words in it, it makes a huge difference (my personal opinion). Also, he always invites some of the coolest people (actors, comedians…and other folks). So that’s my favourite.

My other favourites and not so favorites.

Ear Biscuits with Rhett and Link.

A good one. Why? Well, mainly, because I like the two dudes, I think they’re funny and even though they talk about the most random shit, I still feel that they are worth giving a shot. Of course, I like seeing them on YouTube more than I like listening to them, but their podcast is good when you just want something super casual and laid back to listen to. I also like the sound of their voice (or voices?..). That’s what I forgot to say about Dax Shepard too, his voice is a nice voice to listen to. Maybe it’s just me, but some podcasts I just can’t stand, because the voice of the main person talking is just annoying. Okay, so Ear Biscuits is also a good one.

The GaryVee Audio Experience by Gary Vaynerchuk.

A solid podcast. Lots of good and interesting ideas and thoughts, but I don’t know. I have this love and hate relationship with Gary. He’s an awesome dude and he has my upmost respect. He’s an unbelievable entrepreneur, leader and person, but I can only listen to him for so long. Sometimes there’s too much of ‘attack’ from him, and I know that’s his style, but after a while I need something different. Ehhh, if you’re into business, innovation, entrepreneurship and hustle ’n’ bustle then it’s the one for you.

Couples Therapy with Candice and Casey.

To be honest, I rarely listen to it. Brigita and I, we, usually listen to it together. Not because we need couples therapy, but because it’s also easy to listen to and sometimes there are things that we can relate to. Also, I listen to it because I like Casey Neistat, a lot. He’s an great guy who’s an inspiring figure for me. Sure, now that he’s so popular he lost a bit of that flare, but still, a really cool dude that I love to watch on YouTube. His creativity and approach to certain things in life is really dear to me. Candice, on the other hand, is an amazing woman, she build her business from scratch and she’s funny too. Together they make a fun team, which is why I chose to listen to them, SOMETIMES.

The Rich Roll Podcast by Rich Roll.

Uhmm, I listened to it for a while, but never really got hooked onto his podcast. I like his story, he seems like an awesome guy and he does have interesting guests on his show, but… I don’t know. Something just does not click for me. I might give it a shot in the future.

Joe Rogan, Tony Robbins, Tim Ferris and other big names.

Great people, but not a big fan…yet. Maybe, one day, but not now. I think these sort of podcasts are really ‘info-concentrated’ with an exception of Rogan, but still… There’s a lot of good content that they share and I could recommend it to everyone, at least to give it a shot, but I just didn’t find it appealing. Oh, well.

Last word.

All in all, I love podcasts and would love to participate in one and maybe even start one. Had a lot of ideas about starting one. I actually had recorded about 20 minutes once, but just didn’t think it was it. I’m sure it’s still somewhere on the computer. Hopefully, one day I’ll get onto starting my own podcast, hopefully that’s not going to be too late.

That’s it for now.

Over and out.
