My Wife Died on Friday. This is my Tribute
Daniel DeMarco

They leave us
our flesh and blood
and take with them a bit of us
leaving behind a sense of loss.
But how much they have given,
how much of them we have in us
we’ll never know.
Many of their sacrifices unnoticed,
unsung, even forgotten by them.
So celebrate we must, for their sakes,
the pain we’ve caused them
far outweighed
by their joy
at our coming into their world.
If they are looking down on us
those they loved more than life,
they’d want us to live life fully.
That’s all they ever wanted of us.
